Best X11 Cloud Mining Companies - Bitcoin & Crypto Mining

Why isn't it possible to mine Scrypt or X11 or anything else except SHA256 on ASIC bitcoin mining rigs?

This might be a really dumb question, but it always bugged me and I could not find any factual explaination. What is the reason behind it? Is it software or hardware that is not compatible? Any othe reasons? Thanks in advance.

Is graphics card mining completely dead?

I have 10 7990s and 6 7950s I continue to mine with. The only reason I'm still doing so is because electricity is free for me. I noticed my middlecoin payouts have fallen off a cliff. Is there any alternative out there right now or anything on the horizon? Should I be selling off all of my mining gear? I'd appreciate any tips or insight at all.

Have GPUs and still want to mine for Doge? Why not wafflepool x11 on high profit days?

Just figured I'd throw it out there. I turn my mining rig with 4x r9 290 pushing 20MHs on during higher profitability days (>300% vLTC) and get >.005 btc/day. Yesterday I got a payout of .0068 btc which equates to 11724 DOGE at the current price of 58 satoshi. Not bad if you ask me.
So why arent YOU mining x11 for DOGE!!?

Hash Help: A Primer

As cryptoenthusiasts, we have a problem. If we're going to see more widespread adoption we need to introduce more people to the various nuances of how cryptocurrencies work and the opportunities that are available. One of the most fundamental understandings of how a cryptocurrency works is an understanding of the "block rewards" element. Coins with have a Proof-of-Work reward system--such as Bitcoin, Bitcoin Cash, Ethereum, and others--issue block rewards for computer CPU/GPU/Rig miners which compute using Sha256, x11, or various assigned algorithms. These block rewards are given at an assigned median duration of time at a difficulty and for a pool of hashing speed that is highly variable. Understanding how this all works takes time and many people who are deeply down the rabbit hole don't take the time to introduce these concepts to the novice user. That will be the aim of this subreddit, introducing resources to help people who are bullish on a particular coin and wish to do some mining to accumulate and "HODL" it for the next bull run.

What is HashbookBOT?
HashbookBOT is a Nicehash BOT who monitors pool profitability and coin profitability every 30 seconds. According to that results it changes speed limit on your nicehash orders. If BOT detects profitability is greater then order price on Nicehash, then BOT will set unlimited speed for that order. And if BOT detects profitability on pool is lower then pride of order on Nicehash, it will change speed limit to 0.01. Having multiple orders with different prices will result in constant hashrate and possible greater profit.

Is it hard to use?
No. You just have to add your Nicehash API. ID and KEY, add your wallet addreses (Options -> Wallets) and create orders within HashbookBOT under (Options -> Create orders).

Step 1:
Coin to mine: Here you select profitability checking. There are 3 options.
- Mine most profitable coin (This option will check profitability of all coins on pool).
- FuturoCoin (This option will check profitability of FutoroCoin and your orders will open/close speed limit based on FuturoCoin profitability).
- HappyCoin (This option will check profitability of HappyCoin and your orders will open/close speed limit based on HappyCoin profitability).

Step 2:
Pool payout settings:Select payout currency. BTC, FTO or HPC. (Your have to add your wallet addresses before you continue in Options -> Wallets).

Step 3:
Placement: US or EU nicehash servers. In example: EU
Number of orders: How many orders you wish to open. In example: 3
Base price: starting price of order. In example: 0.014
Price increase: select price increse for each next order. In example: 0.002
Fill each order with: 0.010 BTC [Minimum by Nicehash]. In example: 0.010

Setp4:
Press button "CREATE ORDERS AND SAVE".

Example: If you selected 3 number of orders first order will set price at base prace, next order will be increase by price increase value and third order will be increased by previes order price plus price increse.
Order 1: EU server with price: 0.014 and 0.010 to spend.
Order 2: EU server with price: 0.016 and 0.010 to spend.
Order 3: EU server with price: 0.018 and 0.010 to spend.

How do I start profitability cheking?
In main window select nicehash server where you just created your orders. EU or US. Then File -> Start.

Do I have to leave program running?
YES!

Before you quit program make sure you limit all orders with File -> Pause all orders to prevent any loss.

KNCminers CEO, Sam Cole dumping Bitcoins worth 466,000USD on various exchanges everyday.

Hello,
As you all know, KNCminer builds and develops mining rigs used to mine SHA256-coins and Scrypt-coins. So far so good. What you dont know is that they bought an old helicopter-hangar in northern Sweden (5.500 m2) to simply mine Bitcoins with their powerful minings-rigs. "We make three million swedish crones (466,000USD) everyday from mining Bitcoins and selling, says Sam Cole, CEO KNCminer."
My theory: KNCMiner have been mining lots of Bitcoins with their powerful rigs, dumping it on the market. When difficulty goes up they ship them to us for 9,995 dollar each. I think they are doing just the same with their new scrypt-rigs, just check litecoin difficulty: https://bitcoinwisdom.com/litecoin/difficulty 80% harder to mine than one month ago, it is so obvious KNCMiner are mining loads of SCRYPT-currencies to dump on us. When difficulty have gone up, they will sell their used rigs to us.
Sources: http://www.di.se/artikla2014/3/20/drar-in-en-halv-miljard-pa-bitcoin/
Edit: I just found out about X-11 hash-algorithm adopted by Darkcoin. Too expensive to mine for KNC, eh?
"Because it is more complicated than a SHA 256 ASIC implementation, the use of X11 will prevent the use of ASIC miners for the shortterm to midterm future. It will also allow for a longer period of mining for CPU/GPU users."

Does anyone know how to replicate Samsung's mining machine they made from Galaxy S5's?

I have about 80 of them and am looking to either replicate it or use them somehow to get cryptocurrency. Electricity is not an issue. Would bandwidth be an issue?
To start off, I have no experience mining cryptocurrency. I'm not looking to mine Bitcoin, I know that it's too hard to mine now-a-days. I was thinking of something like Skrypt or X11. Although I have no experience in mining, I'm not completely computer inept. I have about 10 years of IT support experience, so I understand basic computer stuffs.
Maybe cloud mining would be my best bet? Something like Minergate?
Thanks!
Edit: Here's the article that I am referring to

Looking back, ASICs were bad for Doge.

Dogecoin mining used to be amazing. Miners all over the world building these rigs, connecting to this global network of computers coming together to support this crazy idea of a decentralized/distributed crypto currency based off of a Shiba Inu. Our stupid little dog coin actually had some value, which was enough to fuel this crazy passion of mining. Then the ASICs came. They took dogecoin mining away from the common man. How long has it been since anyone has been able to break even? The only ones who really mine are a few shibes with already outdated ASICs and the big guys. The big guys like GAW and ZEUS. We can no longer profitably mine with off the shelf parts. All of mining is at the mercy of a few corporations and the silicon they develop. We have turned from a global community of miners, to the whims of a big few. I used to be able to roll over in my sleep and hear the noise of my GPU fans, to feel the heat of 100% load. I would chuckle to myself that I was crazy enough to spend my hard earned money and research enough to build this crazy machine to support Doge. Those days have passed. No ASIC on the market for a while now has been able to even suggest breaking even, and No one can recommend buying one. The few corporations we put our trust with ASICs have now actually shifted their focus to cloud mining; Literally opposite in philosophy to decentralized mining. At any moment, your cloud mining provider could take your miner from you, and you couldn't stop them. But what about the x11 coins!? What will happen when ASICs come out for x11 coins, and then x13 coins? The main reason for the creation of litecoin was it was GPU profitable as the Bitcoin ASICs started rolling in. Will we mine and kill every coin on our destructive path of ASICs? Coin mining, to be truly successful as a long term strategy should be feasible with off the shelf computing parts, and not custom silicon thats useless once its outdated.

"Mining not profitable anymore" and "End of cryptomining for hobbyists". My rebuttals, and advice.

If you are saying "Mining DOGE is not profitable anymore", then you are correct. At this point, you could sell your cards and then use the money you would have paid in electricity to just buy DOGE instead, and you'd come out ahead. If you are saying "It's better to turn off your rigs", then you are wrong.
DOGE is great. DOGE is what brought me into mining, and DOGE has a freaking fantastic community (DOGCAR ftw)! But DOGE is not a person. You did not stand in front of God and man and promise "DOGE until death do us part". If you got in early on DOGE and sold high and all your rigs are paid off, then by all means protect the coin and mine away. But if you're like most people, you got in late....and your chances of ROI are slim to none on DOGE (personally, I spent approx $2500, and have barely seen $600-$700 of that back in 2 months). There are other things to do with your rigs. You can point them at a multipool that returns more BTC a day than you'd get mining doge. You can do a little research and mine upcoming coins (I made about $300 in 2 days mining SilkCoin and holding for a bit). You can mine Scrypt-N coins such as Vertcoin. You can mine X11 coins such as DarkCoin. In fact, right now the most profitable coins ARE X11 coins.
If by "End of cryptomining for hobbyists" you mean "No more GPU farms for scrypt coins", then you are 10000% correct. But it doesn't mean that it's out of reach for us little guys (yet). You can get 1.26MHs for $160 at GAWMiners. I spent $2500 on my GPU rigs, and I get approx 4.5MHs. For that price someone today just starting out could get approx 17MHs of mining power. Although the network difficulty is going up, obtaining hashrate is getting cheaper.
Cryptomining should NEVER BE LOOKED AT AS A GET RICH QUICK SCHEME. If you want to make money on it, you have to do more than just turn your miners on and stick your head in the sand. You need to do some research. You need to diversify what you're mining. If you want to make money in crypto, you need to treat it like investments, like the stock market. You don't sink all your money and resources into only one thing.
I have no affiliation with them, but I suggest trademybit as the place to mine. You can mine all their specific coins, or you can mine to their multipool port. You can mine Scrypt, Scrypt-N, or X11 coins there. They add new coins frequently, so you usually get to mine the most profitable ones, not just the most profitable of the 5-10 that wafflepool or clevermining happen to mine.
If you're a GPU miner that wants to switch to X11, then grab ccMiner from here and use this to mine with NVIDIA card. If you're wanting to mine it with AMD cards, check out the suchmine article (with links) on it.
SHIBES!!! Don't give up your rigs yet! There are other ways to make money on crypto. Those people that gave up Bitcoin mining when ASICs came out could have moved to Litecoin and gotten a CRAPLOAD of LTC in its early days. Don't be the ones that missed out. Even if we don't still mine DOGE, we'll always be fellow shibes.

KNCminers CEO, Sam Cole dumping Bitcoins worth 466,000USD on various exchanges everyday.

Sources: http://www.di.se/artikla2014/3/20/drar-in-en-halv-miljard-pa-bitcoin/ Edit: I just found out about X-11 hash-algorithm adopted by Darkcoin. Too expensive to mine for KNC, eh?
"Because it is more complicated than a SHA 256 ASIC implementation, the use of X11 will prevent the use of ASIC miners for the shortterm to midterm future. It will also allow for a longer period of mining for CPU/GPU users."

The Serious Problem with a "Easy Mining Algorithm" such as X11

A lot of people lately have been arguing for an easier algorithm, as its getting to summer as their rigs run so hot - and that with X11 / X13 / Some other algo - their rigs are X% cooler. There is a serious problem with this.
In order for a PoW network to be secure, the mining equipment needs to be utilised as efficiently as possible - as if it isn't, then it makes it even easier to 51% control a network by making an efficient miner for the algorithm. This is why ASICs exist for Bitcoin, and ultimately Scrypt now - they are more efficient at doing the work than GPUs.
This is also the serious issue with X11 - There is quite a bit of evidence to support the fact of the existence of FPGAs for X11 now that can mine the algorithm at far better efficiencies than CPU/GPUs - if this is the case, then X11 is a very insecure algorithm, until sufficient people can purchase/make/build FPGAs to make sure that it is distributed/decentralised.
Any coin built on such an insecure foundation, stands the very high risk of having its network subverted with far less effort by an efficient miner.
This is the reason that "easy mining algorithms" are not good, and why vertcoin if/when it does adapt to a new algorithm - will need to pick again a sufficiently hard working heat-producing gpu maxing out algorithm, to ensure it stays secure.

Instead of Merge-Mining Scrypt, why don't we switch to a new PoW algo like X15 or X17 for Dogecoin?

-langer_hans: why don't we switch to a new algo like X15 or X17. There are no successful coins using it so we won't be competing for Scrypt miners, it runs on nvidia and AMD GPUs through sgminer 5, uses 45% less electricity than Scrypt (on GPUs) and outputs 45% less heat. Merge mining with Litecoin might increase hashrate pointlessly and would also most likely drop the price to 0. We need to be independent, preferably GPU mined and not competing for other miners. There are no competing coins for X15 or X17 right now.
http://getpimp.org/community/blog/144-what-are-all-these-x11,-x13,-x15-algorithms-made-of.html
I forgot to mention, this would bring back hundreds of GH/s of GPU miners that are now mostly pointlessly mining random pump and dump coins on multipools for Bitcoin or lease their rigs out for Bitcoin to launch new PoW/PoS coins that die within a few weeks as soon as they go on the exchange. Aka GPU miners have nowhere to go to mine something meaningful besides X11/Darkcoin (and their hashrate and profitability is at break-even/loss category already).
Doing X15 or X17 for Dogecoin would create a new sustaineable mining market for GPU miners that already have millions of $ invested in GPU farms and are eager to find something useful to mine as Scrypt Asics pushed them out.

What's the best way to get Dogecoin out of my CPU?

Obviously mining scrypt or x11 is out of the question cause I'd get no return using a cpu miner... so maybe....
I figure there maybe is a CPU-coin ONLY multipool that pays out either in doge or bitcoin that I can trade for doge... ?
edit: Also, I know I'm going to get next to nothing from my cpu, but currently I'm using an old overclocked rig to heat my room, and i figure would be good to get some doge out of it at least.... I just want to utilize the CPU in the most efficient way possible.
If there isn't, then whats the best way for me to get doge out of my CPU? Perhaps mine a single cpu-only coin and trade it for doge?

Cloud Mining Advice: Genuine vs Scam Crypto Mining Sites

There are few confirmed crypto mining outfits out there that definitely do not scam people:
Bitcoin.com - https://pool.bitcoin.com/index.html?code=ekmrxm (not the cheapest, but they do seem to have extra bonuses making up for it - and they are solid)
Hashflare.io - https://hashflare.io/d586f47e (Cheaper than bitcoin.com and more mining options but also more blurry fees)
Genesis Mining - https://www.genesis-mining.com/a/1914871 (One of the oldest mining outfits out there. In between hashflare and bitcoin.com in price but often sold out on BTC / Sha266 mining)
Semi/possible scams:

Trusted cloud mining services in overview

https://hashflare.io/3724EA75 (founded 2013): Contracts (One-year contracts): SHA-256: 1.5$ for 10 GH/s -> 150$ 1TH/s -> 1950$ 13TH/s (Yet 1950$ is only 1-year rental whereas your rig will stay yours forever) Fees: 0.0035 USD per every 10 GH/s (currently approx. 30% of daily earnings) ->Hashflare Profit: 3.79$-1.5$(Hardware)-1.2775$(Maintenance)=1.01$/year per 10 GH/s -> 1313$/year per 13 TH/s
SHA-256 (real S9 Miner): 2000$ 13TH/s (cf. Hashflare 1950$) Fees: 0.003$ USD per every 10 GH/s (currently approx. 25% of daily earnings) ->S9 mining rig(1400w with 0.1$ Cost pet KW/h) Profit: 3.79$-1.53$(Hardware)-1.095$(Maintenance)=1.16$/year per 10 GH/s -> 1508$/year per 13 TH/s (cf. Hashflare 1313$) But keep in mind that you can sell your hardware at any time as it stays yours forever (not 1-Year Contract) Profit w/o hardware: 3.79$-1.095$(Maintenance)=2.7$/year per 10 GH/s -> 3510$/year per 13 TH/s
*As you pay only for the hardware, you have to pay for the maintenance fees in both cases.
Conclusion: If you decide to buy your own hardware it will will stay yours forever. Nevertheless, keep in mind that you need a storage place for your mining rig and have to deal with the noise, so it should not be turned on 24/7 in your apartment.
Scrypt: 7.5$ for 1 MH/s -> 3750$ for 500 MH/s Fees: 0.01$ per every 1 MH/s (currently approx. 62% of daily earnings) ->(cf. real miner only 15%) Profit: 9.54$-7.5$(Hardware)-5$(Maintenance)=-2.96$/year per 1 MH/s -> -1480$/year per 500 MH/s)
Scrypt(real L3+ Miner): 5$ for 1 MH/s -> 2500$ for 500 MH/s Fees: 0.0038$ per every 1 MH/s (currently approx. 15% of daily earnings) ->L3+ mining rig (800w with 0.1$ Cost pet KW/h) Profit: 9.54$-5$(Hardware)-1.387$(Maintenance)=3.153$/year per 1 MH/s -> 1576$/year per 500 MH/s But keep in mind that you can sell your hardware at any time as it stays yours forever (not 1-Year Contract) Profit w/o hardware: 9.54$-1.387$(Maintenance)=8.153$/year per 1 MH/s -> 4076.5$/year per 500 MH/s
Conclusion: At this point I strongly advise not to buy any Scrypt contracts on Hashflare since you will end up losing money by doing so unless LTC suddenly skyrockets.
As other Hashflare contracts (Zero-fee contracts) are not profitable in my opinion, I will only briefly summarize the results: ETHASH: 2.2$ for 100 KH/s -> 220$ for 10 MH/s -> yields approx. 153$/year (0.51ETH), thus you will lose 67$ unless ETH goes magically up X11: 3.2$ for 1 MH/s -> 320$ for 100 MH/s -> yields approx. 60$/year (0.2 DASH), thus you will lose 260$ unless DASH goes magically up EQUIHASH: 2$ for 1 H/s -> 200$ for 100 H/s -> yields approx. 127$/year (0.54 ZEC), thus you will lose 73$ unless ZEC goes magically up
To sum it up, of course you can try your luck and hope that one of the altcoins will skyrocket to the moon and then you will make some money by joining these contracts. Nevertheless, you could also simply buy the following altcoin and make some money by simply holding the altcoin currency on an exchange. So as far as I am concerned, the only reasonable contract in Hashflare at the moment is the SHA-256 Contract.
https://www.eobot.com/new.aspx?referid=261758 (founded 2013): Eobot offers several contracts like Cloud Folding, SETI, Scrypt etc. Though they are not very profitable and thus I dont want to discuss them in detail. The only reasonable contract would be the SHA-256 5-Year Rental: 6.8$ for 10 GH/s (cf. Hashflare only 1.5$) but also keep in mind that it is a 5 Year Contract and not one year contract(cf. 1.5$*5=7.5$ for 5-Year Hashflare SHA-256).
SHA-256 5-Year Rental: 6.8$ for 10 GH/s Fees: 0.0021$ per every 10 GH/s (cf. Hashflare 0.0035$) Profit: 3.79$-(6.8$/5=1.36$)-0.77$(Maintenance)=1.66$/year per 10 GH/s -> 2158$/year per 13 TH/s (cf. Hashflare 1313$)
https://www.hashnest.com/(founded 2013): Hashnest belongs to BitMain(world's foremost producer of ASIC bitcoin mining hardware) and offers you different cloud mining possibilities. What is interesting about this site is the fact that you can buy other people´s cloud mining power vice versa (can sell it back at any time) on the Market. It is very beginner-friendly since they have the possibility to start with as little as 8000 Satoshi and buy 1 GH/s. Yet keep in mind that the withdrawal fee is 20.000 Satoshi, so you should invest at least 40.000 Satoshi in order to make some money after the withdrawal fees are deducted.
Contracts (lifetime): AntL3+: 7$ for 1 MH/s -> 3500$ for 500 MH/s (cf. L3+ mining rig discussed above) Fees: 0.0027$ USD per every 1 MH/s (currently approx. 10% of daily earnings) Profit: 9.57$-7$(Hardware)-0.98$(Maintenance)=1.59$/year per 1MH/s -> 795$/year per 500 MH/s (cf. Hashflare - 1480$) But keep in mind that you can sell your hardware at any time and it is a lifetime contract so it stays yours forever (no 1-Year Contract) Profit w/o hardware: 9.57$-0.98$(Maintenance)=8.59$/year per 1MH/s -> 4295$/year per 500 MH/s
AntS9: 3.51$ for 10 GH/s -> 351$ 1TH/s -> 4563$ 13TH/s (cf. Hashflare 1950$) Fees: 0.0019$ USD per every 10 GH/s (currently approx. 18.5% of daily earnings) Profit: 3.79$-3.51$(Hardware)-0.69$(Maintenance)=-0.4$/year per 10 GH/s -> -533$/year per 13 TH/s But keep in mind that you can sell your hardware at any time and it is a lifetime contract so it stays yours forever (no 1-Year Contract) Profit w/o hardware: 3.79$-0.69$(Maintenance)=3.1$/year per 10 GH/s -> 4300 $/year per 13 TH/s (cf. Hashflare 1313$)
AntS7: 2.45$ for 10 GH/s -> 245$ 1TH/s -> 3185$ 13TH/s (cf. Hashflare 1950$) Fees: 0.0041$ USD per every 10 GH/s (currently approx. 40% of daily earnings) Profit: 3.79$-2.45$(Hardware)-1.49$(Maintenance)=-0.15$/year per 10 GH/s -> -195$/year per 13 TH/s But keep in mind that you can sell your hardware at any time and it is a lifetime contract so it stays yours forever Profit w/o hardware: 3.79$-1.49$(Maintenance)=2.3$/year per 10 GH/s -> 2990$/year per 13 TH/s
https://www.genesis-mining.com/a/1671951: (founded 2014; discussing only small contracts, bigger contracts cheeper) BTC (Lifetime contract): 1.5$ for 10 GH/s -> 30$ for 200 GH/s -> 150$ for 1TH/s -> 1950$ for 13 TH/s Fees: 0.0028$ per every 10 GH/s (currently approx. 29% of daily earnings) Profit: 3.79$-1.5$(Hardware)-1.02$(Maintenance)=1.27$/year per 10 GH/s -> 1651$/year per 13 TH/s (cf. Hashflare 1313$) But keep in mind that it is a lifetime contract so the hardware stays yours as long as profitable Profit w/o hardware: 3.79$-1.02$(Maintenance)=2.77$/year per 10 GH/s -> 3601$/year per 13 TH/s
Contracts (2 years w/o fees) ETH: 30$ for 1 MH/s -> 300$ for 10 MH/s Profit: 15.31$*2-30$(Hardware)= 0.62$/2 years per 1 MH/s -> 6.2$/2 years per 10 MH/s

Mining rig rental

signed up for MiningRigRentals.com last night. Rented 6 rigs, 2 scrypt, 2 Sha256 and 2 X11. I used the website's pool, ran each rig for 7 hours. I lost 0.00288 bitcoin when all was said and done. What am I doing wrong? Why would anyone mine if it's a losing game?
